Hardware Design and Embedded Devices Engineer
Our Hardware Design Engineer will be a core part of the Cauldron’s team and contribute to the concept creation, architecture, design, development, validation, and support for the technology within the Cauldron. This person will oversee the adaptation and production of hardware and connected devices that we will test and implement in the pop-up in London, NYC, and other cities around the world.
The ideal candidate has a very strong background in hardware, application design and development for connected and embedded devices, and can work collaboratively. Experience in PCB design and development is a requirement. Growth mindset is a must.
We are looking for an Embedded Hardware and Devices Engineer to join our startup—The Magic of Things. Our company’s mission is to make the magic from fantasy books come to life with science, technology, and design. We do this with an interactive cocktail experience called The Cauldron, which currently operates in London and New York, and will be expanding within the US, Europe, and Asia.
The ideal candidate has experience with PCB design and assembly, IoT embedded devices, and is proficient in C (or can demonstrate master of one language and the ability to learn another). Creativity, imagination, and a good sense of fun are unquestionable qualities—we are making magic! This employee will lead our Magic Wand technology R&D with embedded devices used throughout The Cauldron Magical Experience. This employee will oversee the technology implementation in each new operating city—so travel to these places is part of the gig!
Witches (and wizards) of all levels of work experience may apply—but the candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of PCB design, software, and electronics. Experience with 3D printing is a plus—we’ve got a sweet new Ultimaker 2+ Extended that needs some love.
This position is for our office in London, UK. You don’t have to currently be in London, but you must be willing to move to (and have work authorization to work in) the UK.
Competitive pay and employee share options offered. We are a small team that has grown an idea from Kickstarter to 3 successful venues in 2 countries in less than a year. Get in on the ground floor, and join our team!
Please send CVs to firstname.lastname@example.org and share with someone you know who may be suitable for this role.
