Role: Prop Making, Product Design and Laser Cutting Internship

A vacancy has arisen to join our magic-making team as an intern in the Prop Making, Product Design and Laser Cutting department. During this 4 week internship you will work closely with our in-house design team, gaining hands-on experience in constructing, painting and finishing some of the interactive props we use in our immersive venues around the world. There may also be opportunity to assist in the design and production of new props and branded merchandise, utilising computer-aided design software, laser cutting and 3D printing.
The successful candidate must have:
Proven experience in painting/finishing (either with props, sets, small models, scenic art, or fine art).
Creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
An interest in practical, hands-on tasks as well as computer based designing and making.
The following skills may come in handy with this internship, but aren’t a strict requirement for you to have:
Experience in sculpting (clay, polystyrene, superculpey, milliput).
Mouldmaking and casting experience (fibreglass, plaster, silicone).
Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and laser-cutting software.
Start Date: Monday 20th May 2019
Duration: 4 weeks
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Base Location: Hackney Wick, London, UK (Please note there may be times where you are required to work from a different location e.g. one of our local venues)
Salary: Dependent on experience
