The Cauldron is a magical pub where we use technology to simulate the magic you've been reading about in fantasy books. A generation of people have grown up reading about magic, and now we have the chance to bring some small part of that into the world.
We are creating a physical location that straddles the line between the magical and non-magical worlds... a place where adult fans can visit, have a pint, and geek out.
Believe in imagination.
Believe in magic.

adapting tech to create magic
We value attention to detail, and some of the specifics of the Cauldron are perhaps what make it most special. We want to share some of our finer ideas and look forward to the input that other fans can provide, too.
Our food menu will feature dishes that are mentioned in fantasy texts. We will do our best to stay within Canon, and we will source our recipes and ideas for the implementation of those dishes from our community of fans. There is plenty of room for creativity!
Also, the extended fantasy world must have Vegetarians, Vegans, and Gluten-free Wizards and Witches, and will make sure there are options suitable for guests with different dietary restrictions. Our food will be of the highest quality, and sourced from local farmers who are focused on organic, humane, and Free Range farming techniques.
Our drink menu will be full of magic-inspired cocktails, ales, wines, spirits, and soft drinks. We will create spectacular science-based cocktails that look and behave like potions, elixirs, and substances that are described in fantasy books. Our resident mixologist will be tasked with using the magical elements in our pub to brew drinks that capture your imagination. It’s a boozy mix of mixology, science, and technology.
Every two weeks our cocktail menu will feature two signature cocktails that were invented by Kickstarter Backers who choose the “Create your own cocktail” Reward.
Our selection of craft beers and ales will be carefully selected and will feature innovative breweries that push the boundaries in Brewing Science. Our signature beer, The Cauldron Ale, will be hand crafted and served in a specialty bottom-filling pint glass. And naturally, all of our beers and ales will be poured using a magic wand! If you represent an innovative brewery, distillery, or winery, please do get in contact!

The more backers use your referral code, the higher you are on the list.
Are you an educator looking to engage your students in science, technology, and literature? We will gladly host teachers and classroom groups for a student-friendly, educational visit to The Cauldron during the day, where we will look at the science and literature behind the Cauldron.

A Literary Pub
The Cauldron will be a literary pub that is a homage to fantasy fiction and science fiction books, like Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Rivers of London, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars. As such, there will be a strong emphasis on literature and historical inspirations used in well-known fantasy fiction.
Books will quite literally be everywhere in the pub. While they visit, visitors can grab a book to read off one of our many bookshelves, or even plug into a listening station and enjoy an audiobook.
Visitors The Cauldron are encouraged to bring with them a copy of their favorite childhood book, which will be donated to a reading classroom in need through a charitable organization. We want to help build robust classroom libraries and support a new generation of young readers.
Because this is a somewhat unusual Kickstarter project, it is uncertain exactly when we will secure premises. It really depends on the property market in London, which is out of our control. We have been working with property agents in London who specialize in this market. However in between securing premises and Opening Day, we will be hosting Magical Hackathons and refining the technology used within the pub.
We intend to have rewards shipped in time for the 2017 holiday season!
We believe that this idea is executable and deliverable with $500,000. The majority of our costs will go toward securing premises in London and getting the pub up to scratch. Many of these costs are the initial costs needed to refurbish and open the pub and keep it going for the first few months.
A pub in this part of London has an annual turnover of about 1.9 million dollars, so once we open our doors in February 2018 we should see monthly turnover of over $150,000. This money will immediately be invested back into the Cauldron.
Once we get going, we will add features to the pub, develop more Magical Tech, and keep pace with the demands for pub’s inventory and staff.
If we can significantly surpass our goal, we would like The Cauldron to become an inn as well as a pub. If this happens, guests can book a stay at The Cauldron and be completely immersed in the magical experience.
Guest rooms will be specifically designed to embody descriptions found in fantasy fiction books. We will implement Magical Technology in imaginative and natural ways. Each guest will receive a wand that is used to lock and unlock their room, as well as control elements within the room, like the lights.
Our Kickstarter Backers with Advanced Access will have the opportunity to book a stay in the Cauldron before booking is open to the general public.
We chose crowdfunding instead of traditional funding as the vehicle to make The Cauldron a reality because this idea should belong to a community of fans and not just a handful of people. Just as important as the funding to make this project a reality are the contributions and engagement from excited and creative fans like you. By opening up this idea to crowdfunding we hope to build something that every fantasy fan will love to visit when in London.
Also, this idea is a bit out there. It requires imagination, creativity, and a leap of faith. The beauty of crowdfunding is that it gives crazy ideas like this one a chance to succeed.
