The 13 Spells & Protective Charms
we have cast over The Cauldron
for a safe, social distanced
& magical re-opening!

Our aim is, and has always been, to bring magic into the world.  We feel this mission more strongly now more than ever—we all could use a little pick me up. We appreciate your support at this unusual time and look forward to seeing you soon for a cuppa!

Potion Making at The Cauldron® Edinburgh is a social-distance friendly, immersive class where you step into the imagined worlds of your childhood through molecular mixology, science & technology. Specially designed for social distancing!

Spell Casting 101: After donning a robe and receiving a magic wand, you are led to an interactive work station where you cast a pouring spell with your wand to receive a welcome drink from the maw of a magical creature.

Potion Making: You then brew two molecular cocktails, each of which have different traits and effects.  Our interactive drink menu is regularly updated and additional drinks can be purchased during your visit.

All potions can be made with or without alcohol and we have a range of vegan and gluten-free drinks available.

Tickets include:

1) a welcome drink that you pour (beer, mixed cocktail, or mocktail),

2) two molecular cocktails that you brew, and

3) the 1hr 45min interactive experience.

Our beer of the season is called 'Blue Lady Pale' and is a limited edition pale ale from Pilot Beer in Leith, and is made with Blue Lady tea with flavours of citrus with lemon and grapefruit.

Please note that The Cauldron Magical Experience® is largely self-guided, but a potion’s master is on-hand to make sure that you don't poison yourself!

To limit customer-to-customer contact during this time, robes will not be provided upon entry.  New robes may be purchased for use and to take home while supplies last, but we've decided to temporarily suspend our robe-to-borrow program.  We hope you understand, as our primary concern is your safety.

Safety & Social Distancing in these dark times

Witches and wizards, please be alert to the current climate.  We are doing everything in our powers to ensure a safe, clean, and fun environment for our customers and staff.

Upon arrival and before entry, we will require each member of your party to submit their information to facilitate effective contact tracing should it prove necessary.  This information will only be shared with the relevant government body in the event of a public health crisis.

Read about what we are doing to keep you safe whilst within our walls.  We hope you will join us for a well-deserved cuppa in a warm, safe, and clean environment!

Terms & Conditions Apply

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions in place in Edinburgh, as a licensed venue, The Cauldron Edinburgh is only allowed to serve non-alcoholic beverages, and the venue needs to close by 6pm each night. Please note that we will be fully abiding by any new measures that are mandated and/or recommended by the Scottish authorities, therefore our opening times and dates as well as our offering may change at short notice. We are very sad to not be able to operate as normal over this period, but these government restrictions are out of our control.

If you have an upcoming reservation with us for a potions class, please be aware that we will be unable to offer any alcoholic beverages while we still have to follow these government restrictions. You are welcome to come to The Cauldron on your original date and time (provided it is within the venue’s opening times) and we will be delighted to offer you a non-perilous potions class (non-alcoholic). Please note there will be no refunds made if you choose to come for a non-perilous potions class, as the tickets we sell for potions class are for an experience, and the price does not vary whether it is alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Alternatively, your booking is still valid for a future date and time should you wish to reschedule it to enjoy an alcoholic experience. Feel free to get in touch with us once you have a new date and time in mind outside of the current restrictions, and we will be delighted to move your booking.

At this time we are currently dealing with a very high volume of inquiries and you do not need to email us for your booking to be valid at a later date.  Please accept our apologies if we take longer than usual to respond to you but thank you for your support and keep making magic!

Due to the new Tier 2 Covid-19 restrictions announced on 15th October, the following measures are now in place for all bookings as of Saturday 17th October.

1) Only members of the same household can be seated together at a designated work station

2) It may be possible to split a group booking with people from different households into sub-groups of the same household, seated at different work stations. Social distancing measures will be in place to ensure that sub-groups are seated at different workstations. If your party consists of members from different households, you must email us at londonsupport@thecauldron.io and notify us in advance of your booking, as our ability to break larger parties into smaller groups is limited by the capacity of our venue and tables available.

If your booking is made up of members of different households, we may be unable to welcome you on your original date due to these government restrictions and until Tier 2 is lifted. Please be assured, however, that your booking is still valid for a future date and time. Feel free to get in touch with us to put your booking on hold or to reschedule once you have a new date and time in mind, and we will be delighted to move your booking.
